Love and sorrow. You cannot have one without the other. Two ends of a beautiful continuum of emotion.
You cannot truly love without the threat of immense pain. Is the great joy found in love worth the sorrow of your love not being unreturned? Is it better to protect yourself all together? If we hide, we do not have to answer the hardest question – am I loved… am I wanted… am I good enough? If we never ask the question, we can never be faced with what we fear most.
Whether it be a failed relationship, lost job, or struggle to make it through another day, there is someone who will love you, want you, and affirm that you are more than enough.
“But you, my Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy; you are very patient and full of faithful love.”
Psalm 86:15
You will make mistakes, but through God there is immense grace and forgiveness. The God of the heavens, the creator of our souls, the beginning and the end– this God loves with a fierce love that can cast out all fear or anxiety.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.”
1 John 4:18
The love that God has for us is perfect. His perfect love for you is enough to wipe away every fear, even fear in death.
No matter what sorrow you face today, know that you are loved beyond anything you can imagine. Now, how do I experience this love?
Jesus says,
“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.”
John 15:9
Spend time with the Lord daily. This is one relationship that has eternal blessings. The one relationship that will never fail you. The One who never leaves your side.
Make time today to sit in His presence and feel the unfailing, unconditional, unfaltering love of the Lord Most High.
“Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”
Psalm 86:11
